Star Tech was founded in 1999 by Daniel Thomas and Danny Phillips, who had been working in the live entertainment industry in what is now being known as the 'dark years' of live performance. Dance music was everywhere, cover bands where few, corporate events were low key and international acts just didn’t come to Australia anymore. Gone were the heady excesses of the eighties, and great band performances of the early nineties.

But by building the business in these low times, Star Tech has now become one of the most grounded, reliable and trusted providers of quality advice equipment and crew for the live performance industry today.
